How is the final grade calculated?
Each category grade is multiplied by its weight, the weighted scores are added up, and the total is divided by the sum of the weights. If your weights add up to 100% that is the same as a percentage; if they don’t, the tool still scales proportionally.
What if my weights don’t add up to 100%?
That is fine. The calculator normalizes the weights, so a category worth “2×” simply counts twice as much as one worth “1×”, regardless of the exact numbers you enter.
Can I use points instead of percentages?
Yes — enter each category’s score as a percentage of that category’s possible points. The weighted average then reflects the course as a whole.
